The murder of a young journalist leads Chief Inspector von Meuffels into the dangerous world of satellite guidance systems for military applications and radical, decidedly non-pacifist peace activists.

A young journalist dies in Munich. After a long interrogation conducted by Chief Inspector Hanns von Meuffels, an unsuccessful musician named Mischa Eigner confesses that he killed her in a jealous rage. Case closed. That is until the victim's friend Corry Hüsken comes to Hanns von Meuffels urging him to reconsider the premature results of his investigation. The musician apparently has an alibi that would have cleared him, but he kept it quiet. He is obviously trying to protect the real killer. So, Hanns von Meuffels decides to take another look at what the dead journalist was working on. It transpires that she had gathered information on the Verbier factories who are developing a new satellite guidance system for the armaments industry. These factories were set up on the initiative of successful EU politician Dr.Joachim von Cadenbach. The young baron who lives with his wife in the small village that belongs to his family has become the target of radical peace activists who would not baulk at murder. The relentless hunt that is now beginning for the journalist's research has awoken a much larger danger however, because someone somewhere has absolutely no intention of ever letting this material be published...
